REVIEW: Zidoo X7 RK3328 TV Box

Zidoo X7 RK3328 TV Box with Android 7.1

These couple of days I tested Zidoo X7 RK3328 TV Box. I wanted to review and compare this brand name box to other TV boxes. ZIDOO has unveiled this TV Box in June,2017. It came with quad core RK3328 chipset and MALI-450MP2 GPU with Android 7.1.

It came nice packed, little different than other boxes I used to open. We ordered it from www.gearbest.com for only $68. For shipping, note that if you choose DHL, they have their own taxes, so my advice is – use standard shipping. I used standard shipping, and it came in 12 days.

One nice thing: hdmi cable is 1.5m.

SET UP is very easy. Just follow step by step and you will set it in a minute.

User interface is nice and simple. There are many unused icons of popular aps you can set.

ZIDOO X7 comes built in with the powerful zidoo media player,which supports 3D MVC frame packing (Blue Ray). You can use this player to watch any video content. UTF8 on subtitles is auto supported. Also Kodi 16.1 is preinstalled. You easily update Kodi from Play Store. Music player is also built in. Main advantage of this TV Box is decoding H.265 new video codec. Picture is clear, without any lags.
One thing I noticed when I watched movie is that you must wait a little if you choose to forward to some part of movie, picture freeze and after few seconds go smooth.

Looking in System Information on idle.

Remote is nice and simple.

There is 3 special buttons on remote you can set to open favorite applications. Also Power Button on remote has 3 options, and you can set what every you want.

Youtube application is not installed, but you DON’T install from Play Store, you can easy find youtube version for Android TV.

X7 came with nice app ApkInstaller to install apt. Download on
I tried Mobdro, Popcorn and Youtube, everything working like a charm.
ZIUI provides aggregated cleanup capabilities, and you are able to easily manage the third party APP by Clean Up or terminate running process, also uninstalling.

Running a CPU benchmark test with AnTUTU it gave a score of 36070

3D is supported but game performance is mid level.
As 3D is supported we tried some games. Bluetooth 4.1 supporting all gamepads so you can set and enjoy. I tried Real Race 3 (HD game) that support this remote as I don’t have gamepad. Game is working very good on high settings. If you plan to play the games all the time I don’t think that remote will survive. So for games better option is gamepad.
